Board of directors
The commercial pursuit of technology research and development for business is primarily about the creation of enduring value by solving business problems. Winscribe has long held the belief that good balanced corporate governance will preserve and enhance that value for all stakeholders, including our customers.
The Winscribe board is currently made up of two executive directors and two non-executive directors, including the chair.

Richard McLean - Chairman
Richard has been an independent director of Winscribe since March 2007 and Chairman since October 2008. Richard has enjoyed a successful career spanning 26 years and progressing from sales to general management, group general management and governance. He has successfully established start up companies and has been a founding shareholder in a large publicly listed entity in the technology sector. Outside of his chair role, Richard currently provides mentoring and other development advice to entrepreneurs developing global growth technology companies.

Scott Gilmour - Director
Scott joined the Board of Directors in 2009, and also serves on the Boards of Jade, Nextspace and ResourceWare. After 8 years in sales and management roles with Burroughs (NZ) and NCR (USA), he worked for 12 years with Intel, in both the United States and New Zealand, in a number of senior management and marketing positions. He co-founded a successful enterprise software company in the USA in 1989, ABC Technologies Inc., which was sold to SAS in 2002, and is now an active angel investor in Kiwi technology companies.
He balances this high tech world with an educational non-profit, the “I Have a Dream” programme, which he initiated in Mt Roskill, New Zealand in 2003. An “I Have a Dream” project motivates and empowers children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term programme of mentoring, tutoring and enrichment, along with tuition assistance for higher education.

| Philip Vian - Director
Philip has been an executive director of Winscribe and shareholder since the acquisition of his UK Company by Winscribe in 2002. Philip has a successful track record as an entrepreneur and business owner and has a deep knowledge of Winscribe’s European markets. He is currently based in the UK.

| Matthew Weavers - Director
A founding shareholder and currently Chief Executive Officer, Matthew has been an executive director of Winscribe since establishment in 1995. He has a successful background in the establishment and growth of technology companies in world markets and also has a deep knowledge of software development having earned a degree from the University of Waikato’s School of Computing.
