Donns' Roll Out Innovative SRC WinScribe Digital Dictation Solution
London, May 27 2004 - During the initial pilot phase, 20 staff in the firm's Personal Injury Litigation department used WinScribe digital dictation to reduce the amount of time it takes for documents to be completed, deliver enhanced flexible working and improve client service levels.
In an innovative step, the WinScribe software has only been installed on
secretaries' desktop machines, with Donns' fee earners dictating via
hand-held Philips devices and then automatically downloading their
dictations via convenient docking stations located around the Personal Injury
Litigation department.
"Digital dictation is a key part of our strategy to continually drive
improvements in client service," said Manda Tiernan, Donns' Director of
IT & Telecommunications.
"When selecting the best digital dictation solution for the firm, we
were very keen to select a system that is already proven to deliver a
rapid return on investment. We spoke to several existing SRC WinScribe
customers who had all seen better client service levels and return on
investment in short timeframes, some as little as six months.
"SRC's track record was also a very important part of our selection
criteria. The combination of SRC's proven project management and support
services and the simple fact that WinScribe is the most developed and
robust system available made the solution a clear favorite for the
pilot," Ms Tiernan continued.
Nicholas Close, Partner in Charge of PI Litigation at Donns, has been
pleased with the overall success of the initial pilot project, "The
introduction of the WinScribe system from SRC has reduced the amount of
time it takes to complete documents, encouraged us to streamline our
handling of physical files and involved very little change to the way
our staff work. The project has generated a high level of interest
within those departments not involved in the pilot and we are now
rolling the system out to our Extraordinary/Public Liability and Catastrophic departments."
"The solution we are providing ensures that Donns will be able to
improve client service by making it easier to prioritize work and speed
up document turnaround with very little change to the way fee earners
and secretaries work." said Chris Hart, CEO of SRC.
