Lupton Fawcett Heralds SRC WinScribe
London, 5 April 2005 – Leeds-based Lupton Fawcett, one of the North-East’s largest integrated commercial law firms, is rolling out the SRC WinScribe digital dictation solution firm-wide, after a successful pilot reduced backlogs and was described by the firm as the smoothest IT project ever run.
Prior to introducing WinScribe, Lupton Fawcett had been using an analogue tape dictation system, which meant that fee earners would frequently wait until at least 4 or 5 jobs had been recorded before passing tapes to a secretary for completion. Using the new WinScribe system, secretaries can now start transcription the moment the fee earner has finished dictating. This efficiency improvement has quickly resulted in the elimination of backlogs and dramatically improved client service levels.
“We looked at both the leading digital dictation systems during our selection process, and chose WinScribe from SRC for its proven technology, which is used by more legal users across the globe than any other system,” said Kevin Emsley, Lupton Fawcett Managing Partner.
“Our key objectives when deciding to introduce digital dictation were to make significant improvements to client service levels, whilst gaining access to far more detailed management information, thus enabling improvements in resource planning. The SRC WinScribe has quickly delivered on these objectives.
“The overall flexibility and openness of the WinScribe system was also a key factor in our choice. The ability for the firm’s fee earners to dictate via any Windows CE PDA using WinScribe’s Pocket Author application gives great flexibility when out of the office.”
Lupton Fawcett chose a dedicated train-the-trainer course from SRC to enable its in-house trainers to deliver high-quality end-user training based on that developed by SRC.
“SRC’s services came very highly recommended and we’re delighted that this has been more than born out by our experience of working with their implementations team. SRC’s project management and train-the-trainer services have been first-class and have made the deployment of the WinScribe system the smoothest IT project we have ever run,” continued Mr Emsley.
“Lupton Fawcett’s choice of WinScribe fits perfectly with the firm’s IT strategy, which emphasises the selection of best-of-breed technologies that combine leading-edge innovation with proven reliability levels and a substantial user base,” said Chris Hart, SRC CEO.
Lupton Fawcett is the latest law firm to join the SRC WinScribe community; other prominent law firms include Beachcroft Wansbroughs, Ricksons, Ward Hadaway, Dickinson Dees, Hill Dickinson, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, Berrymans Lace Mawer, Irwin Mitchell and Morgan Cole. SRC is WinScribe’s exclusive UK Platinum Partner.
