WinScribe Integrates with Philips Speechmike to allow authors to dictate with greater ease
London, December 6, 2005 - Philips Speechmikes act as an ideal input device, allowing authors to dictate into and control the functionality of the WinScribe version 3.6 software. The two complement each other well, offering users an even higher degree of ease of use and interactive feedback.
The Speechmikes are fully customisable making them ideal for individual requirements. The Speechmike Plus range, which has all of the facilities of the other models, has the additional benefit of four extra programmable (function) buttons. This allows the author to incorporate all of the controls to produce their dictation without the need to regularly consult the PC monitor.
With the integration of Speechmike Plus the WinScribe author application can also operate in ‘minimised’ view, enabling the user to see what’s on screen rather than the dictation module, making it easier for all authors to complete word perfect dictation.
Philip Vian, WinScribe’s International Sales and Marketing Director, explains: “Our integration with the new Philips SpeechMike range not only offers our customers the benefit of a more versatile solution, it is also reflective of WinScribe’s advantage of being able to operate on a wide range of hardware, making the WinScribe/Philips partnership a winning combination.”
Authors will be able to control the features of version 3.6 via the SpeechMike, without the need to ‘swap’ view or hide any text, making digital dictation using WinScribe with SpeechMike as easy as using a traditional dictation recorder – with the added benefits of workflow and enhanced sound quality.
There are added features such as illuminated function buttons making it clear to the author what mode of dictation they are in. There are also various models, the ‘Classic’ with a traditional slider control and the ‘Pro’, which uses buttons for the main diction features, making these devices ideal for all uses.
