WinScribe to Show Superior Dictation Workflow Management at RSNA Congress
Radiologists gain control of their transcription; reduce backlog for better, faster patient results
Chicago, 16 November 2005 - WinScribe, developer of one of the world’s most widely used digital dictation workflow systems, will be exhibiting at RSNA 2005, November 27 – December 2, at McCormick Place, Chicago.
WinScribe has been developed with the requirements of the medical profession in mind, meaning that radiology and healthcare organizations benefit from improved workflow and employee performance. Radiology has specific requirements for dictation, including the need for efficient turnaround of transcripts to provide patients and physicians with fast, quality results.
Aiken’s Regional Medical Center, located in South Carolina, were looking for a solution that would allow them to gain control of their radiology transcription backlog and reduce operating costs. Howard Sanford, Aiken’s Radiology Department Head, reports, “WinScribe has eliminated the requirement to cut and paste transcribed text into Aiken’s Radiology Management System cutting average report turnaround by up to 48 hours. Reports are available to physicians on average 90 minutes after the Radiologist dictates the report. Transcription productivity has improved by more than 150 percent”.
Users of WinScribe software can dictate anywhere, anytime and have their dictation automatically routed to the relevant transcription staff, wherever they are located. The solution also supports the HL7 standards, making it simpler to integrate into hospital system environments.
Skip Dostine, WinScribe’s US Vice President of Sales, sees radiology as an important sector driving WinScribe’s continuing growth. "It is not enough to simply offer an elegant solution for the dictation and transcription of documents. We are finding our customers need a total solution – one that handles the workflow elements of transcription well. We offer a solution that copes effectively with the healthcare industry’s workflow”, he says.
The Radiological Society of North America hosts this annual event which features technical presentations and an exhibition of the latest research and development for the radiology sector. WinScribe will be exhibiting at Booth 2504 where the latest release of the WinScribe solution will be on show. Senior staff will be available for meetings if arranged in advance.
